October 2005 Prayer List

Month: October 2005
Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthews Church.

Pray for:
* Successful 2005 Fall Bazaar
* For the St. Matthew’s committees and outreach ministries specifically:
** Bazaar volunteers and committee members
* Armed Forces – may God’s protection surround our troops, especially the men and women serving from St. Matthews. May God strengthen their families.
* St. Matthews two, five and 10 year planning – may the Holy Spirit direct our future.
* Church finances, especially an abundance to cover winter heating costs.
* Surrounded by harshness and uncaring, create gentleness within our hearts and parish
* For the two seminarians from our diocese who were killed in an automobile accident: Matty Molnar and Jared Creek. Pray for their families, the Mundelein Seminary Community and Matt Hauschild, former St. Matthews’ seminarian.
* Father Jerry for his spiritual leadership and guidance. May God grant him the strength to serve our parish.

Prayer for Gentleness:
Creator Spirit, strengthen me with your gifts of grace, to love and serve as a disciple of Christ. Grant that I may grow into the fullness of the stature of Christ. Fill my heart with the joy of your presence. Increase in me the fruit of your Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of love, patience and gentleness, the spirit of wonder and true holiness.

Remember not my iniquities, but, more especially, my sorrow for the offenses I have committed against You. I long to be true to Your Word, and pray that You will love me and come to make Your dwelling place within me. I promise to give You praise and glory in love and in service all the days of my life. AMEN.

You are the God of Israel, and of all who hope in Christ. AMEN.
