November 2005 Prayer List
Month: November 2005
Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthews Church.
Pray for:
* Create in us a heart of thanksgiving for God’s daily gifts.
* For the St. Matthew’s committees and outreach ministries specifically:
Food Pantry – May we serve Christ by providing food for the needy
* Armed Forces – may God’s protection surround our troops, especially the men and women serving from St. Matthew. May God strengthen their families.
* St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning – may the Holy Spirit direct our future.
* Church finances especially the $200,000+ debt. We ask that God work miraculously.
* Surrounded by harshness and uncaring, create gentleness within our hearts and parish
* For our parishioner who suffer from loneliness. May we reach out with love and acceptance.
* Father Jerry for his spiritual leadership and guidance. May God grant him the patience to serve our parish.
* Priests of the Archdiocese and the Topeka region.
Prayer of Thanksgiving:
Dear God, thank you for my life on this earth, however challenging or not.Thank you for giving me free will to love and be loved, to make my own decisions, to learn from my mistakes, to laugh when I am happy, to cry when I am sad.Thank you for my family, my friends, my pets, my colleagues, and for every other living creature I meet along my journey. Thank you for giving me strength to overcome adversity, to do what's right forthe benefit of the greater good, to rise above negativity. Thank you for giving me hope for an end to world suffering, pain, and war, for a beginning of a world filled with light and everlasting love.
Committee Notes:
* There is a stewarship trade show in February. We need a few volunteers to sign up for the Prayer Committee table. The details are sketchy but I believe we are recruiting St. Matthews members to join the prayer committee. If you are interested, call or email Kathleen Falk saintmatthewsprayer@yahoo.com.
* Are you on a church committee or project and need divine help? Add it to the next prayer list. Contact Kathleen with your prayer request.
