Month - August 2006: Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthew Church.
August’s scripture verse:
“ Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. ”- John 1:12-13
August New Requests:
• For the St. Matthew’s committees and outreach ministries specifically:
o St. Matthew’s School and Preschool – as it enters into another school year.
• Peace, harmony and forgiveness within our faith community.
• Bring joy and friendship during the Western Bid and Bite Night and the Potluck Picnic.
• Help all students achieve success – new and returning college students, individuals returning to complete or start a degree – or training for a new field of work. May God bless their desire for increased knowledge.
• Bless the workers during the Parish Work Day.
• Thanksgiving for the addition of Christian Holmes. May the Holy Spirit help Christian reach kids for Christ.
• Bless Father Jerry as he prepares for his sabbatical.
Existing Requests:
• Armed Forces – may God’s protection surround our troops, especially the men and women serving from St. Matthew. May God strengthen their families.
• St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning. May the Holy Spirit direct our future.
• For an increase in stewardship in our parish, that more people will give of their time, treasure and talents for the good of our community.
• We thank God for providing money for debt reduction. We ask that He grant us continued favor for the remaining $200,000.
• We lift us the priests of the Archdiocese and the Topeka region as they bless us through their faithful service.
A Simple Prayer.
O Jesus, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.
