February 2006 Prayer List

Month: February 2006
Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthew Church.

February’s scripture verse:
John 3:16 -- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Pray for:
* Successful Stewardship meeting. May our members step up and assist in building the body of Christ.
* For the St. Matthew’s committees and outreach ministries specifically:
o Minister of Communion to the Sick and Homebound
* Armed Forces – may God’s protection surround our troops, especially the men and women serving from St. Matthew. May God strengthen their families.
* St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning. May the Holy Spirit direct our future.
* Church finances especially the $200,000+ debt. We ask that God provide miraculously.
* May we reflect the love of Christ to an unloving world. Help us understand the greatest gift of all – God’s love.
* Father Jerry for his spiritual leadership and guidance. May God grant him the strength to serve our parish. We also lift us the priests of the Archdiocese and the Topeka region.

Prayer for Love:
God, my Father,
may I love You in all things and above all things.
May I reach the joy which You have prepared for me in Heaven.
Nothing is good that is against Your Will,
and all that is good comes from Your Hand.
Place in my heart a desire to please You
and fill my mind with thoughts of Your Love,
so that I may grow in Your Wisdom and enjoy Your Peace.
Amen.

1) How often do you pray using the prayer list?

2) Do you find the prayer list (indicate one)
too long too short just right other_________

3) What do you think of the prayer content?

4) How can we encourage church members to submit prayer requests?

6) As a prayer member, how could the Prayer Committee improve?

7) Other comments or suggestions:

Also, the Prayer Committee is participating in the Steward-SHIP meeting on Feb. 5. Several committee members are needed to man the booth. Please let me know if you are available to tell members this is a simple way to support St. Matthew.
