January 2007 Prayer List

Month – Jan. 2007: Please pray for the following needs of St. Matthew Church.

January’s scripture verse:
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Psalm 91:14-16

January’s New Requests:
• For the St. Matthew’s committees and outreach ministries specifically:
• The Events Committee. May the Holy Spirit refresh and inspire them as they plan and prepare.
• Bless the Parish Card Party on Jan. 20. May we bond in friendship and love
• Bless the Parish Open House featuring the available committees and activities offered by St. Matthew.
• Strengthen Father Jerry and aid in his adjustment.

Existing Requests:
• Armed Forces – may God’s protection surround our troops, especially the men and women serving from St. Matthew. May God strengthen their families.
• St. Matthew’s two, five and 10 year planning. May the Holy Spirit direct our future.
• For an increase in stewardship in our parish, that more people will give of their time, treasure and talents for the good of our community.
• We thank God for providing money for debt reduction. We ask that He grant us continued favor for the remaining amount.
• We lift us the priests of the Archdiocese and the Topeka region as they bless us through their faithful service.

January Prayer
Eternal God, we pray for peacemakers. We pray for Your blessing to be upon those who, often in quiet ways, are at work within churches to bring about reconciliation and harmony. We pray for our world and the divisions that exist within nations and between nations. Heavenly Father, unite our hearts, minds, and wills, so that all Your people might live in peace. We ask these things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. (www.worshipaid.com)
